We’re excited to announce a new integration available to our partners: Microsoft Clarity. In this article, we’ll explain what Microsoft Clarity is and how you, as a NoviSign partner, can integrate it into your white-label Studio to gain powerful insights into how users interact with your customized CMS.

Microsoft Clarity integration

What is Microsoft Clarity?

Microsoft Clarity is a free analytics tool that combines features from tools like Google Analytics and HotJar. It gives you a detailed look at how users interact with your website. With Clarity, you can:

  • View stats such as the number of users, sessions, countries and visited pages.
  • Watch screen recordings of real user sessions.
  • See heatmaps showing where users clicked or moved their cursors.
  • Analyze patterns in user behavior to help you optimize your content and user experience.

How to Integrate Microsoft Clarity with Your NoviSign Studio?

This integration is available only to NoviSign partners with a white-label Studio. Your website for the inetgration is actually your white-label Studio CMS, so you’ll be able to see your users’ behavior in your NoviSign CMS.

Step 1: Create a Clarity Project
First, sign in to Microsoft Clarity using any email account (Gmail, Outlook, etc.).
Create a new project, which represents a single website — in this case, your customized NoviSign Studio.
During setup, Clarity will generate a tracking code. You can find it by clicking the “Setup” option in the left menu, then selecting “Get tracking code.”
Clarity get tracking code
Since Microsoft has 3 ways of installation, which means setting up the tracking code (you can see it in their setup document). You might need to actively choose the manual installation (in which you just need to extract the tracking code which will be an identifier to your website – your customized online Studio, in this case). The 2 other ways you may see there are irrelevant (i.e. choosing a 3rd party platform and using NPM).

Step 2: Get Your Project ID
Clarity will display a block of script code. You only need the project ID, which looks like a string of numbers and letters.

You’ll find it:

  • Within the tracking script (highlighted in Clarity’s interface).
  • Or in the URL shown during setup.

Copy this project ID to the clipboard and save it somewhere handy (i.e. to a notepad).

Step 3: Enable Clarity in NoviSign
Before proceeding, please confirm with NoviSign Support that the Clarity feature is enabled for your partner account.
Then:

  1. Log in to your Admin Tool.
  2. Go to the “Utilities” menu and click on “Apps”.
    Admin apps
  3. Locate the Microsoft Clarity app in the list.

  4. Click “Install”.
  5. In the field that appears, paste your Clarity project ID.
  6. Click Save or Submit.

Once installed, you’ll see an “Uninstall” option (button) in place of the install button — this confirms the integration is active.

When Will Data Start Appearing?

After installing the integration, please allow up to 2 hours for data to start appearing in your Microsoft Clarity dashboard. Once active, you’ll begin seeing real-time stats and recordings of user interactions within your NoviSign Studio CMS.
You’re now all set to start gaining deeper insights into your users’ behavior. If you run into any questions, our team is happy to help every step of the way.
